Man Utd handed Trippier boost, see Aouar as Pogba replacement, offered Vinicius

Manchester United open their pre-season campaign on Sunday as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side take on Derby County – who are currently managed by United legend Wayne Rooney.

Jadon Sancho is still yet to be officially unveiled as a United player, and he won't be making an appearance at Pride Park tomorrow.

And as United look to finally draw an end to the Sancho saga, the Red Devils are set to up their pursuit of Real Madrid centre half Raphael Varane as Solskjaer looks to strengthen his defence.

So Daily Star Sport has rounded up all the day's transfer dealings for United.

Brexit Boost for Trippier

The Red Devils have received an unexpected boost in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid's wing-back, and England Euro 2020 hero, Kieran Trippier.

La Liga rules dictate that sides can't have more than three non-EU players registered in their squad, and, as of this season, English players no longer count in the EU quota.

Trippier, according to reports, has wanted to move back to the Premier League, and Atleti may be forced to sell.

Aouar identified as Pogba replacement

Paul Pogba has been long since rumoured to be leaving the Red Devils, after he has failed to live up to lofty expectations placed on the shoulders of the Frenchman.

And with that in mind, Solskjaer has identified Lyon's Houssem Aouar, Pogba's compatriot, as a possible replacement in the midfield – according to ESPN.

Aouar has earned plaudits with stellar performances in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League.

Los Blancos have offered their Brazilian starlet, Vinicius Jr, to United as they look to fund a move for PSG's sensation Kylian Mbappe.

According to the Mirror, United are interested in striking a deal, however, they would rather take the 21-year-old on loan with an option to buy.

Real, on the other hand, are hoping to relieve the Brazilian of his services to the tune of, at least, £68.5million.
