Manchester United are set to prioritise a move for Erling Haaland over Harry Kane next summer, according to reports.
Haaland and Kane's futures were the subject of speculation in the previous summer transfer window, with the two strikers tipped to leave Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham respectively.
And United, who were on the hunt for a new centre-forward, were naturally linked with moves for both men.
In the end a deal for Haaland, valued at a rumoured £150million by Dortmund, proved unrealistic and unwise just 12 months before a £68million release clause is inserted into his contract with the German club.
As for Kane, Spurs chief Daniel Levy slapped a similar price tag on his star frontman, which deterred both United and neighbours Manchester City from prising him away from north London.
Instead, both teams turned their attention to a last-ditch move for Cristiano Ronaldo, and it was the Red Devils who lured their former player back to Old Trafford.

Paul Scholes claims one major problem will hinder Man Utd's Premier League title pursuit
While Ronaldo, who has scored five goals in his first seven games back at the club, operates as a centre-forward these days, United will likely target a new striker again next summer.
If Spurs continue to struggle for form under Nuno Espirito Santo this term, Kane's future will once again come under the spotlight when the market reopens.
However, Manchester Evening News are reporting that United will prioritise a deal for Haaland over Kane after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer came to a 'mutual agreement' with football director John Murtough.
The pair believe the 21-year-old would be a better option than Kane, seven years his senior, and potentially a much cheaper one at that.
