    Manchester United have offered a statement regarding their reaction to Cristiano Ronaldo's full interview with Piers Morgan in which he slammed the club, staff and players.

    The brief statement reads: "Manchester United has this morning initiated appropriate steps in response to Cristiano Ronaldo ’s recent media interview.

    "We will not be making further comment until this process reaches its conclusion."

    The footballing world had patiently awaited the Red Devils' response after the 37-year-old vented his fury towards during a 90-minute sit down with Morgan. There, club legend Ronaldo spilled the beans on everything going behind the scenes at Old Trafford, from the lack investment from The Glazers, to the quality of the gym.

    The fallen idol took no prisoners as he aimed digs at manager Erik ten Hag and belittled ex-boss Ralf Rangnick's coaching credentials.
