Manchester United have long insisted Donny van de Beek isn’t for sale. However, it’s now been claimed that the club are ‘unsure’ about the Netherlands international. And, what’s more, they apparently have offers on the table to take the player away from Old Trafford.
A year ago, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made it clear to the Glazers that he wanted to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa.
However, after being told it would require a fee of £75million, the Red Devils then swooped for Van de Beek instead.
Things for the Dutchman started well, with the 24-year-old scoring on his debut in a 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.
Yet he made just four Premier League starts all season, often being behind Bruno Fernandes in the club’s pecking order.
Van de Beek is yet to play a single minute this season, either, despite spending the summer bulking up.

Publicly, Solskjaer has said he feels the player is ‘important’.
“Whenever you don’t win a game you look at it but I always look at it as much when you win as well,” Solskjaer said after his side’s 1-1 draw with Southampton on Sunday.
“What could we have done differently.
“I thought Nemanja [Matic] was excellent, Antho [Martial] was close to scoring a goal but Jadon and Donny will be important for us.”
Yet journalist Phil Brown, speaking on The Beyond the Pitch podcast, has claimed United are ‘unsure’ about Van de Beek.

And that suggests there’s a possibility the midfielder will leave, especially with Solskjaer eyeing reinforcements.
Eduardo Camavinga remains admired, with the France international expected to leave Rennes before the transfer window shuts on August 31.
But a deal for Saul Niguez appears likelier, with Atletico Madrid open to parting ways with the Spain international.
It’s also stated that United currently have offers for Van de Beek on the table.
And what ultimately happens with the player remains to be seen, especially with Solskjaer and his coaching staff seemingly unconvinced.
Speaking recently, meanwhile, the midfielder’s agent Guido Albers opened up on Van de Beek’s future.
“Everyone within the club knows that Donny cannot have another season like last year,” Albers said.
“In preparation, clarity would be provided about his role.
“The fans had already embraced him before, but the most important thing is that the trainer has now provided clarity in the English press.
“We are happy with that. And I assume that Donny will play a lot in one of the positions in midfield in the coming period.”
United won’t want Van de Beek to be another one-year flop.
Angel Di Maria lasted just 12 months at the club after arriving from Real Madrid in 2014, ultimately leaving for PSG.
Memphis Depay spent 18 months at Old Trafford before ultimately being offloaded to Lyon.
And it was a similar story with Alexis Sanchez, too, who also only lasted 18 months.
Much may depend on whether United are able to sign Camavinga or Saul, with the latter appearing a more likely signing at the current moment in time.
