Man Utd not meeting Sancho asking price is 'bizarre' says Cross
Manchester United remain interested in signing Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho ahead of the January window, it has been claimed. The England international was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top target in the summer. But a move to Old Trafford failed to materialise, with the Red Devils instead choosing to sign Edinson Cavani.
United wanted Sancho.
Solskjaer made it clear to Ed Woodward that the England international was a priority target, one he felt should shine in tandem with Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Mason Greenwood in attack.
In the end, however, United didn’t sign the Dortmund star.
He’s since struggled for form over in Germany, with the 20-year-old failing to score a single Bundesliga goal from 11 appearances this term.
Yet, despite that, Fabrizio Romano has claimed United are ‘still interested’ in signing Sancho.
A move in January seems unlikely, with Dortmund still valuing their prized asset at over £100million.

The Red Devils seldom do transfer business in the New Year, signing Fernandes and Odion Ighalo nearly a year ago aside.
But it seems Solskjaer retains hope of adding Sancho to his star-studded attack.
Sancho opened up on links to United back in the summer, admitting he tried to shut it all out so he could focus on improving.
“I try not to look at the media because I think once you start looking at all that it would be easy to get carried away with it,” he said.
“It can affect players. For me it’s about not looking at those things and just focusing on trying to do the best I can on the pitch. Especially in training.
“For me it’s about improving every single day. It’s important for me to keep a smile on my face and keep happy.

“I don’t really look at all the noise and all that stuff. I’d rather keep my head down, keep focus and improve every day.”
Former United star Louis Saha would love to see Sancho move to Old Trafford – as well as Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish.
“It’s unfortunate Man United couldn’t get deals in place for Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho last summer because they are two amazing players,” he told Ladbrokes.
“I know less about Grealish but I think he would have fitted perfectly into this team.
“But for me, I’m sorry, Sancho is just such an unbelievable player.
“He’s unpredictable, he’s such a great talent and if he was playing for United with Bruno Fernandes, you just know as a striker you’re going to score goals because of the two of those.
“Man United did miss out on the two of them in the summer, but hopefully they’ll have another chance to sign them soon.
“My choice of the two would be Sancho over Grealish.
“Both are amazing players and they’d improve any side. They’re so confident and would be really useful for Man United’s strikers.
“Fernandes has done a great job in helping United since arriving earlier this year, so could you imagine what another player of his level would do to the team?”
