Manchester United are looking to bolster their squad and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has some big transfers in mind. Whether they get them over the line or not remains to be seen but they have their sights set on a number of targets.
United have several key players on their transfer shortlist with Solskjaer looking to improve almost every department.
Donny van de Beek and Amad Diallo were the only two players this campaign to seriously set the Red Devils back any money and a transfer kitty has been built for the Norwegian coach.
In total, he wants four players – a striker, a winger, a defensive midfielder and a centre-back.
But who is on United’s wish list?
The first name on Solskjaer’s wish list is Erling Haaland – but he is not the only one.
As well as United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also in for the Borussia Dortmund striker, who has been valued at nearly £130m.
Where he ends up remains to be seen but this is a saga that looks set to stretch on over the summer.
With Chelsea out of the way, United have a clear run on Declan Rice – who has had a stellar season with West Ham.
At the age of 22, Rice looks like a nailed-on starter for England and has led the Hammers to a potential Champions League spot in one of their best seasons in living memory.
David Moyes would not want to lose the youngster and while he is valued at £55m, any offer would have to go way past that total to around £80m.
After their brazen attempts to sign Jadon Sancho last year failed miserably, United are taking a more measured approach.
But do not think they are prepared to let him slip through their fingers again and are actually planning to sign him for cheaper than the £109m price-tag which was quoted to them in the transfer window.
If Dortmund miss out on Champions League football, which looks very likely, they would not be able to command such a high fee.
Express Sport were able to exclusively reveal that contact has been made with Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba last month.
The Burkina Faso international is at the heart of the defence for the Bundesliga outfit and has attributes that Solskjaer craves in a centre-back.
Despite being just 22, he has great confidence in himself to bring the ball out and pass like a playmaker while also possessing the speed to get back and prevent counter-attacks.
