Manchester United have signed Donny van de Beek from Ajax – but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side aren’t finished there. The Red Devils remain keen to improve the squad amid links to Jadon Sancho, Dayot Upamecano and Thiago Alcantara. So Express Sport will now take a look at the latest news and gossip surrounding the Red Devils.
Sancho message to Solskjaer
Unless you’ve spent the last few weeks away on the moon, you’d know United want to sign Sancho from Borussia Dortmund this summer.
And Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet say that the Red Devils are now increasingly confident that they’ll secure the forward’s signature.
It’s claimed that Solskjaer and Sancho have held discussions about a move to Old Trafford.
And, in those conversations, the Dortmund star made it clear that he was eager to move to the club this transfer window.
United have made progress on agent fees but must now meet Dortmund’s eyewatering £108million asking price if they’re to get a deal done.

United have been linked with Upamecano in recent times, with the club impressed by his Champions League performances for RB Leipzig.
However, The Athletic say there’s only a ‘very slim’ chance of the 21-year-old moving to Old Trafford this summer.
As things stand, strengthening at centre-back isn’t a priority for Solskjaer’s side.
He has Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire as his first-choice defensive duo, while also having Axel Tuanzebe, Eric Bailly and Teden Mengi in reserve.
United are likely to sell Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo – with the trio all deemed surplus to requirements.

Thiago picks next move
United have been linked with Thiago, who impressed for Bayern Munich as they won the Champions League last season.
But The Athletic say his preference is a move to Liverpool instead.
Jurgen Klopp has already missed out on Timo Werner to a Premier League rival, with the Germany international moving to Chelsea earlier in the transfer window.
And he’s reluctant to miss out on a second.
Thiago was tipped to join United back in the summer of 2013 but ended up missing out, with Bayern winning the race for the player’s signature on that occasion.

Jenas foresees big business
BBC Sport pundit Jermaine Jenas thinks United will do ‘serious business’ before the transfer window slams shut.
He told the BBC: “I am sure United are going to do some serious business in this window – they have to.
“Unless they sign three or four players, they are facing a real battle to make the top four.
“They need another centre-half for starters and more numbers at the top end of the pitch, whether it is a recognised centre-forward or Jadon Sancho.”
