Manchester United will only look to sign one of Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, according to reports. Sancho is again a top target for United after the Red Devils baulked at Borussia Dortmund’s £108million asking price last year. Meanwhile, Ronaldo is linked with a sensational return to Old Trafford.
Both Sancho and Ronaldo are preparing for their participation in this summer’s Euro 2020 tournament.
However, that has not stopped speculation over their future at club level.
Dortmund are more willing to allow Sancho to leave the club and could accept a fee of £77m.
Ronaldo also looks likely to leave Juventus, with Paris Saint-Germain interested in the Portugal superstar.

Duncan Castles, speaking on Reach PLC’s Transfer Window podcast, says there is a strong interest from United in both players.
Sancho’s Dortmund team-mate Erling Haaland is also a target but a deal this summer looks increasingly unlikely.
However Castles says money will only be spent on one forward, whether that be Sancho, Ronaldo or other targets, because United believe Mason Greenwood’s versatility can cover for different outcomes this summer.
“There is a clear priority for [Ole Gunnar] Solskjaer and his recruitment specialists, and that is that they sign a forward,” Castles said.

“Now, they have an interesting setup in that they’re looking both for a centre-forward and for a right-sided forward, but they will probably only sign one of those.
“Why? Because they feel like bringing a top talent in in that position – and they’re looking at high-price, high-quality acquisition – can be accommodated in the current squad.
“Should they bring Sancho, or another top-quality right-winger in, Mason Greenwood would move into a centre-forward role, sharing the position essentially with Edinson Cavani, and Anthony Martial would be moved out.
“If instead they go for a quality centre-forward, and Cristiano Ronaldo is on the list of potential acquisitions, as is Erling Haaland who would be Solskjaer’s preference, then Mason Greenwood would stay on the right-hand side and share that position with the emerging Amad Diallo and Dan James.”
Meanwhile, United legend Mark Hughes reckons United perhaps need more than four signings this summer to bridge the gap to their rivals.
“I think [Solskjaer’s] right in terms of needing new players,” Hughes told talkSPORT.
“Whether or not three or four is enough… it could be that they actually need more than that.
“But we’ll see how the transfer market is and who’s available, and who they prioritise as the ones they want.
“It will be an interesting summer for everybody at Old Trafford.”
