Thomas Tuchel has been hit by a devastating transfer blow with Mason Mount reportedly growing ‘frustrated’ at Chelsea. Mount had become a key player under Frank Lampard before the Englishman was sacked, with Tuchel also making him a first-choice member of his starting line-up in his first six months at Stamford Bridge.
But in the German’s first full campaign in charge, Mount has found himself slipping down the pecking order.
He started the first three Premier League games, before being benched for the win over Aston Villa and hauled off at half-time in the trip to Tottenham.
Since that win over Spurs, Mount has started just two of Chelsea’s seven top-flight games, having struggled to recreate his form from previous campaigns.
His hat-trick against Norwich City remains his only goals in any competition this season, with the 22-year-old having notched only two assists on top of that.
With Mount struggling to create chances, Tuchel has opted to give his other attacking options a chance to shine.

But Tuchel’s decision has reportedly had a negative impact on Mount, who is thought to be growing increasingly frustrated with his role.
According to the Daily Star, Mount is feeling ‘under appreciated’ at Stamford Bridge due to the way he is treated compared to the club’s other big-name stars.
The midfielder is said to believe that he is still being treated as a youth team player, despite having become one of the Blues’ most important stars.
The report quotes a source who is close to Mount’s camp, who has revealed the England international’s frustrations.

“Mason is a top lad and thought of well within Chelsea, and is popular with the team. But he isn’t feeling appreciated anymore,” the source told the Star.
“He’s been at Chelsea since he was a tiny lad, but despite coming up through the academy, he doesn’t feel like he gets the same treatment or recognition as players bought in for big money.”
Tuchel must act quickly to quell those frustrations, with the Star claiming that Mount would be ‘prepared to leave’ if the issues are not settled.
He still has nearly three years remaining on his contract, which he signed when he returned from a loan spell at Derby County.
That deal sees him earn £75,000 a week, which makes him one of the lowest earners among Tuchel’s squad.
Chelsea opened talks over a new deal for Mount in September, but there is no sign yet that they are progressing.
If he did depart, Liverpool would appear to be his preferred destination, with the Blues star having previously spoken highly of Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.
“I spoke to a couple of the boys about playing there and they say it is unbelievable,” Mount has said in the past.
