Manchester United paid nearly £20million for left-back Alex Telles in the previous transfer window, but Paul Ince believes that’s not enough.
The Brazil international joined the club late in the window and has looked impressive, providing United with another attacking avenue on the left.
He’s been employed both as a left-back and a left wing-back, and his arrival will likely see Brandon Williams move over to right-back to provide cover for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
United went into the summer 2020 transfer window looking for a new left-back to provide competition for Luke Shaw and allow Williams to move across the defence.
But Ince believes they should still look for a new left-back in the January window, as well as a centre-back.
United have been slightly shakey at the back this season, with question marks over their pairing of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Ince assessed their centre-back options and suggested that a new arrival could be worthwhile.

Asked where United need to strengthen in January, the former midfielder said: "Maybe at centre-half.
“I'm not sure if he's got his perfect partnership with Maguire. He's got Lindelof in there.
“I like Bailly. I think he's got a bit of speed.
“Maybe a left-back, I know Telles has come in but I'm not sure what Telles is.
"At the moment United are playing so well I don't think we want to disrupt anything.
“It's a strange league, teams aren't winning week in, week out."
