Ousmane Dembele has spoken to Chelsea and Manchester City as he looks for an exit route out of Barcelona, according to Spanish publication El Desmarque.

There are reports that he has spoken to these two Premier League clubs as well as French champions Paris Saint-German without Barcelona’s permission.

He is currently out of action for the next couple of months with yet another muscle injury, and apparently believes he won’t be playing for the Catalans next season.

Ousmane Dembele has spoken to Chelsea and Manchester City about signing next season

Dembele is out injured for the third time this season after limping off against Dortmund

Dembele signed for Barcelona from Dortmund in 2017 for 105 million euros (£89.5million) but his debut season was marred by a hamstring problem which required surgery and kept him out for more than five months.

This latest injury is his third of the season so far, keeping him out for 10 weeks. He pulled up in the first half of Barcelona’s game against Dortmund in the Champions League last month.

Dembele has only appeared five times so far this season for Barcelona, as a result of a mixture of injuries and a red card suspension, scoring just the one goal.

Frank Lampard could be looking to spend some of the £150million war chest on Dembele

The Frenchman was brought in as a successor to Neymar at the club, but has failed to live up to expectation so far, especially given his price tag which put him as the sixth most expensive footballer ever.

Not only has he missed a large number of games, his commitment and consistency on the pitch have been called into question by the fans.

Chelsea have had their transfer ban reduced, and Frank Lampard has been given £150million to spend in the January transfer window.
