Following enquires about his jumper in particularly, the 63-year-old broke off analysing a decision to clarify: “Can I just say, this is a Christmas present, so, you know what I mean…”

As he bizarrely stroked his jumped, Sidwell piped in. “From what year,” he quipped which triggered laughter from the panel which included Robbie Savage and Chris Sutton.

“That’s a good point,” laughed Walton before continuing to his verdict on an incident.

He then returned to the subject of his jumper. “Anyway, enough of that,” he added, stroking the top again. “It was a Christmas present a few years ago.”

Presenter Jules Breach then told Walton “I’d really like you to stop rubbing your chest like that.”
