Phil Foden to become dad for second time just months after Iceland hotel shame

Manchester City ace Phil Foden is expecting his second child with girlfriend Rebecca Cooke.

Foden, 20, had his first son, Ronnie, with childhood sweetheart Cooke back in January 2019, while he was just 18 years old.

And according to The Sun, the couple are now expecting to have a daughter in the late summer or early autumn.

A source said: “City can't stop scoring at the moment — both on and off the pitch.

“They've hit the back of the net more times than any of the teams and are now celebrating another kid. It couldn't be a better way to cap off such a great season.”

The news comes just seven months after Foden and Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood hit the headlines for inviting two Icelandic girls into his hotel room while on international duty with England.

Both the City midfielder and Greenwood were sent home early from the trip by Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate, who was left incensed by his two young stars flocking Covid-19 regulations.

Foden did not let the scandal affect his form at club level, nevertheless, with a solid return of 13 goals in 41 games for City standing him in good stead to earn a place in Southgate’s squad for Euro 2020 this summer.

He is currently enjoying his finest season in a City shirt since breaking into the first time three years ago, getting on the scoresheet in both legs of their Champions League quarter-final win over Borussia Dortmund this month.

  • However, after finding the back of the net in the second leg on Wednesday and setting up a mouthwatering semi-final showdown with PSG, Foden caused controversy by sending out a bold tweet to Kylian Mbappe.

Along with a picture of him scoring against Dortmund, he wrote: “@KMbappe are you ready”.

Yet according to the Telegraph, the tweet was actually sent out by Foden’s social-media company Ten Toes Media, who have been sacked as a result.

Foden was reportedly left seething with the post, which was sent without his consent.
