A photo of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang getting a tattoo has emerged after the Arsenal captain was dropped for disciplinary reasons.
Aubameyang was missing from the Gunners’ squad for Saturday’s Premier League match against Southampton.
Arsenal won the game 3-0 without him, but the absence of their captain from the match day squad left Mikel Arteta to field uncomfortable questions.
"Unfortunately due to a disciplinary breach,” he said when asked about Aubameyang not being named in the squad.
"I think we have been very consistent that we have certain non-negotiables in the team that we have set ourselves as a club, so he's not involved today.
“Certainly, it’s not an easy situation, a situation that we want our club captain to be in.”
Aubameyang was dropped by Arteta for Saturday’s 3pm kick-off at the Emirates, just a day after his tattoo artist shared a picture of him on Instagram.
Alejandro Nicolas Bernal posted a snap appearing to show him tattooing the Gabon striker’s left forearm on Friday, although it is unclear when the picture was taken.

There is no suggestion that the tattoo was the reason behind the 32-year-old’s disciplinary breach.
An Arsenal spokesperson toldThe Sun: "We will speak to the player to remind him of his responsibilities and establish what has taken place."
The Athleticreported on Saturday that Aubameyang had been dropped after returning later than planned from a trip abroad.
He had reportedly been given permission to travel for a personal reason, but his late return had a knock-on effect for the team’s Covid protocols.
Aubameyang has been going through a rocky spell with Arteta recently, having been left out of the side which beat Tottenham 2-1 in March for being late.
The club captain’s form on the pitch has also been questioned recently.
He was substituted when Arsenal were chasing a goal in the 3-2 defeat by Manchester United last week and saw Eddie Nketiah brought off the bench before him in the 2-1 loss at Everton on Monday.
He has gone six Premier League games without a goal and has just four in 14 appearances in the competition altogether.
