Paris Saint-Germain are expected to embark on a mass clear-out this summer as a precursor to obtaining the services of Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba, reports suggest. The Frenchman was outstanding during Euro 2020, despite crashing out on penalties in the round of 16 against Switzerland.
Pogba has failed to reach his full potential on a consistent basis for United, contrasting sharply with his performances for the national side.
The general feeling, therefore, is that his talents could be put to better use elsewhere, while it would also afford the Red Devils some financial flexibility if they were to shift him off the wage bill.
From the Parisians’ perspective, it is believed that luring Pogba to the Parc des Princes would encourage Kylian Mbappe to sign a contract extension with the club, and a report in Le10 Sport claims they are willing to sell nine players in order to fund a move for Pogba.
With Pogba in the prime of his career and highly sought-after, his services will not come cheap, so sporting director Leonardo faces the prospect trimming the squad significantly this summer.
Express Sport has taken a look at the nine players PSG will reportedly allow to leave in a bid to go after Pogba.

Layvin Kurzawa seems to constantly flirt with the exit door whenever the transfer window rolls around.
The left-back has been linked with Arsenal in the past, but the Gunners now seem well-stocked for left-backs after acquiring Nuno Tavares from Benfica.
Still, over 150 appearances for PSG are unlikely to have gone unnoticed by everyone. Meanwhile, Thilo Kehrer is another who could reportedly be on the chopping block.
The 24-year-old German international set the club back a whopping £33million in 2018, and while he has been a useful member of the PSG squad, they may struggle to recoup that kind of fee.
Finally, goalkeeper Sergio Rico finds himself in a thoroughly unfortunate position after the signing of Gianluigi Donnarumma.
With Keylor Navas still in the mix, Rico is unlikely to catch a glimpse of the pitch during the next campaign, therefore the full Spanish international could be wise to seek a move.

Competition for midfield spots at the Parc des Princes is fierce, and it would be even more so if Pogba was successfully recruited.
His arrival could spell the end for Rafinha, who is not in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans according to Le 10 Sport, as well as Pogba’s old United team-mate, Ander Herrera.
Leonardo would also have the option of entertaining offers for the likes of Julian Draxler, Danilo Pereira and Idrissa Gueye, although that may be a hard sell to the boss as the trio were regularly called on last season.
Pogba is something of a ‘jack of all trades’ in the middle of the park, so losing a handful of bodies would be unlikely to hurt PSG’s Ligue 1 title prospects.

Flaunting players of Neymar, Mbappe or Angel Di Maria’s calibre can only be done by a tiny minority of clubs in Europe.
As such, PSG are keen to keep hold of them for as long as possible, while it leaves striker Mauro Icardi in a tenuous predicament.
The front-man is an expert at finding the net, even when working with limited game time as he has done in Paris.
Still short of his 30th birthday and scoring on a regular basis, another top club would surely be willing to take a gamble, with Juventus supposedly sniffing around.
Clearly, bringing in a player like Pogba comes with sacrifice, but Leonardo and Pochettino have options aplenty if they are forced to cut back on numbers in the coming weeks.
