Paris Saint-Germain take on Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday evening in what will be one of the richest matches in football history.

The clubs are well-known for being financially backed by billionaires, with PSG owned by Qatari businessman Nassel Al-Khalaifi and City controlled by the deputy prime minister of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mansour.

And the pair have helped their respective clubs to build ridiculously stacked teams which combined are worth more than £1.3billion.

Using figures from transfermarkt, PSG's most expensive line-up has a market value of £670.5m, slightly edging City's starting XI valued at £654.3m.

Out of all of the 22 players, Real Madrid target Kylian Mbappe comes out on top as the most expensive at £144m.

There is a tie for second place with his team-mate Neymar and City's creative spark Kevin De Bruyne both valued at £90m.

England star Raheem Sterling follows as the next most expensive on £81m, while there is a shock split for the next spot.

City starlet Phil Foden, 21, is worth as much as six-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi – both are £72m.

Who is the best player from the Man City and PSG squads? Let us know in the comments section.

The defences are where the difference is made – Ederson (£45m), Joao Cancelo (£49.5m), Ruben Dias (£67.5m), Aymeric Laporte (£40.5m) and Nathan Ake (£28.8m) make City's worth a total of £231m.

In comparison, PSG goalkeeper Gigi Donnarumma (£58.5m) and his backline of Achraf Hakimi (£54m), Marquinhos (£67.5m), Pascal Kimpembe (£36m) and Nuno Mendes (£36m) come in at £252m.

City hit back in the midfield, though, with Rodri and Bernado Silva both valued at £63m compared to Marco Veratti at £49.5m and Georginio Wijnaldum at £27m.

And the English side reign victorious in the battle of the strikers too – Gabriel Jesus (£54m) is more than Mauro Icardi (£36m).

If those staggering teams weren't enough, then City have £292.77m worth of talent leftover and PSG have a further £227m in their ranks.

Of those players, Jack Grealish (£58.5m) and defender Thilo Kehrer (£22.5m) are the most costly stars for their respective sides.
