Speaking on Sky Sports, Keane said: ‘He was fantastic, Lamela. In the past few weeks he has been one of their outstanding players.
‘I think it has continued from last season, the game against Leicester when he scored a double. His form has carried on since then, he has been brilliant.’
Tottenham won despite both Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli being absent through injury. Dele is likely to be out for at least another fortnight, although Eriksen could return for the midweek Champions League clash with PSV.

However Lamela’s adaptability across the front line makes him unpredictable and dangerous for opponents, according to the ex-Republic of Ireland international.
Keane said: ‘He’s very clever, he always gets in those pockets, the goal was a prime example of that. You will see him on the left sometimes, on the right, in the middle. He’s one of those players where you are not sure where he plays.
‘The interplay between the forward four was fantastic today, but he has certainly stepped up to the plate in the last few weeks.’

Such is Lamela’s form at present, Keane feels manager Mauricio Pochettino should consider maintaining him in the team, even if it means leaving Dele out.
He said: ‘Certainly at the moment, on current form. When you’re injured, it takes you a few weeks to get back into the swing of things, two or three games, so you probably won’t see Dele Alli starting until four or five games down the road.
‘If he puts in performances like that, and carries on like that, why not keep players like Dele out of the team?’
