Louis Saha believes Manchester United flop Paul Pogba has a big enough ego to prove his critics wrong.
Pogba has come under fire again following claims from his agent Mino Raiola that his time at Old Trafford is over.
Raiola insists the French superstar will not sign a new contract and will leave Old Trafford as soon as possible.
The outburst came on the eve of United crashing out of the Champions League last week following defeat at RB Leipzig.
Saha has slammed the timing of Raiola's comments and described Pogba's communication set-up as a "joke".
But the former United star reckons Pogba has enough confidence to go on and show people he can still be a success at United.
Saha said: "I'm baffled with the situation with Paul Pogba. I really love Pogba, he's someone I consider highly, but his communication is a joke.
"I can't believe something like this happened, because the Leipzig game was so important for United. You need that focus, but the focus was on one player.
"This is unbelievable. The headlines were about Pogba because of his agent – it wasn't even Pogba who said anything and I can't understand how these things happen. It is absolutely against the interests of the club.
"I can't believe that Paul knew about it. We need to find out what happened as there might be more to it, but the timing of it was really bad.
"I still think that Paul has got tremendous talent, he is a good player with a lot of ego, which is really helpful to actually prove people wrong.
"That is what I want from him. He definitely needs to step up his game because there is a team there which needs to win."
