And transfer expert and journalist Guillem Balague claims there were two reasons why a move was binned.
Firstly, despite Zidane’s comments, Bale, in fact, wants to stay in Madrid after all.
Balague also says that Bale is insistent that he will not be used in any kind of deal to sign Neymar from PSG.

Secondly, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez reportedly heard ‘a lie’ that James Rodriguez was nearing a move to China for £37m.
And just before all the paperwork was due to be signed, Balague claims that Perez blocked a decision to let Bale leave.
Napoli are thought to be in pole position to sign Rodriguez, who does not look to have a place in Zidane’s squad after returning from a two-year loan at Bayern Munich.
The Serie A side have been chasing the Colombian for most of the summer, though Spanish outlet Marca say that they are thinking withdrawing their interest with PSV winger Hirving Lozano now in their sights.
