Declan Rice is not short of admirers this summer have shone for both club and country in the last 12 months.

The 22-year-old started every one of England's Euro 2020 matches as the Three Lions went all the way to the final, only to be beaten 3-2 on penalties by Italy.

Rice also starred for West Ham as the Irons qualified for the Europa League for the first time since the 2015/16 campaign.

In order to ward off potential buyers, the West Ham hierarchy have slapped a £100 million-pound price-tag on the head of Rice with Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City having all been credited with a move in recent months.

Released by the Blues in 2014, Rice joined the West Ham academy and featured at every youth level for the Republic of Ireland before switching alligance to England in 2019.

There has been constant talk of a reunion for Rice at Chelsea, not least because it would see him link back up with best friend Mason Mount.

Reports from The Athletic suggest that the Three Lions midfielder has ignored approaches from West Ham about a contract extension and hasn't given up hope about a return to Stamford Bridge.

But with three years left on his current deal it looks increasingly unlikley that Chelsea will fork out the £100 million that the Irons are looking for if they are going to let Rice depart.

At the moment, Chelsea are still monitoring the situation but an approach doesn't seem forthcoming.

Also, from Blues boss Thomas Tuchel's perspective, any potential deal would have to include Abraham in a player plus cash deal.

With the Blues priced out of a move for Rice, the club are strongly weighing up a move for Monaco’s highly-rated 21-year-old Aurelien Tchouameni; the 21-year-old was recently voted Ligue Un's Young Player of the Season.

Although unproven in the Premier League, Tchouameni would cost significantly less than the £100 million West Ham are demanding for Rice.
