Tottenham have been handed a boost in their quest to sign Adama Traore from Wolves this summer, with the west midlands club having identified two potential replacements for the forward. Spurs have been relentlessly pursuing the 25-year-old in recent days as they look to bolster their squad ahead of the transfer deadline.

Traore has set the Premier League alight in recent seasons with his blistering pace and power.

The Spain international has become a menace to defenders in the top flight – with even the most experienced campaigners being tormented at the hands of the player time and time again.

Traore, who played the full 90 minutes in his side’s clash with Spurs on Sunday, has scored ten goals and created 18 more during his 133 games for Wolves.

But it is his direct style of play and surging attacking runs which have made him such a difficult opponent to face.

The forward’s final product has always come under the spotlight but he has proved he can mix it with the best during his days in the top flight.

During the 2019/20 season, Traore inspired Wolves to double Premier League victory over Manchester City – running rings around their defenders as he scored three goals and assisted one during their two league meetings.

So if Tottenham do land their man, Wolves will clearly be left with a big void to fill.

And Molineux club chiefs will look to replace Traore by signing either Goncalo Guedes from Valencia or Ademola Lookman from RB Leipzig.

Wolves have been keen on Guedes for some time and the winger would bring an abundance of attacking potency should he make the move to England.

Guedes has experienced mixed fortunes during his time with Valencia since making his loan move from Paris Saint-Germain permanent in 2018.

The 24-year-old has 23 caps for Portugal and would arrive at Molineux with 20 Champions League games under his belt.

Lookman, meanwhile, has struggled to make an impression in Germany since moving to RB Leipzig from Everton two years ago.

He made just 11 Bundesliga appearances during his debut campaign at the club and was shipped out on loan to Fulham last season.

Lookman, who came through the youth set-up at Charlton Athletic, has played 70 Premier League games and was reportedly a target for Burnley earlier this summer.

The 23-year-old clearly has the potential to be a Premier League star at the right club and he could be the perfect fit for Wolves.

Wolves are yet to pick up any Premier League points this season – suffering 1-0 defeats to Leicester City and Tottenham.
