Harry Kane single-handedly turned Tottenham’s night, and Champions League hopes around, at Wembley as Spurs’ captain scored twice in the last fifteen minutes to securing an unlikely comeback against PSV.
Tottenham were lacklustre for much of the game, with Lucas Moura providing flashes of flair in the first half as he ran at the Dutch defence only to be brought off by Mauricio Pochettino midway through the second half to the surprise of the Spurs supporters at Wembley.
Eindhoven’s caption, Luuk de Jong, left Spurs shellshocked after just 62 seconds as he ran free in the box to head home and giving Mark van Bommel’s side the early lead.

Eventually, after 77 minutes, Harry Kane found a way through PSV’s resilient back-line as Harry Kane swept home a left-footed strike after Fernando Llorente’s deft layoff.
And then in the game’s dying moments, the captain’s header deflected off two PSV defenders, leaving the keeper helpess to the most fortuitous of winners.
Nevertheless, Tottenham’s Champions League prospects remain in their own hands now with a win against Inter Milan next an absolute necessity.
