United 'ready to join Liverpool and Real in £110m race for Bellingham'

Man United are ‘ready to join Liverpool and Real Madrid in the race for £110m-rated Jude Bellingham’ this summer – with the Dortmund star set to smash the British transfer record if he does decide on a return to England

  • Jude Bellingham has chased by Liverpool and Real Madrid for some time
  • Manchester United have now ‘joined the race’ to sign the 19-year-old
  • Bellingham is believed to be valued at’ £110 million’ by Borussia Dortmund

Manchester United look ‘set to enter the race to sign Jude Bellingham’, with the midfielder’s fee expected to be ‘at least £110 million.’

The 19-year-old has become one of the most highly rated youngsters in world football after stellar performances for Borussia Dortmund and England in the past 12 months.

Liverpool feel they will have a good chance of signing Bellingham if they qualify for the Champions League next year, while Real Madrid have made contact with the young midfielder. Chelsea and Man City are also believed to be in the hunt.

It now looks as though another contender has joined, with the Telegraph reporting that United are ‘genuinely interested’ in the England star.

They also claim that, while Dortmund still hope to keep their star midfielder, they have set a minimum fee of ‘£110m’ for him.

Manchester United have joined the race to sign highly-rated midfielder Jude Bellingham

A decision expected to be reached in the next few weeks, with a source telling the Telegraph ‘everything is open’ regarding the starlet’s future.

It means that if Bellingham does return to England, he will likely break the British transfer record set when Enzo Fernandez joined Chelsea for £107 million in January.

If he was to join Real Madrid, The midfielder would future-proof a side that has dominated European football for much of the past decade.

They already boast two of Europe’s most exciting young midfielders in Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga, and in Bellingham could bring in another to replace the aging, but still brilliant, Luka Modric.

For Liverpool, their chances of bringing in the midfielder will likely hinge on where they finish in the league.

Both Erik ten Hag and Jurgen Klopp want the young midfielder, but they face obstacles to signing him

Losing to Bournemouth at the weekend has left them six points off the top Champions League places, which they will surely need to finish in to have any chance of signing Bellingham.

With games against City, Chelsea and Arsenal  in their 12 remaining fixtures, it may be a tough ask.

United look better placed to finish in the top four, although it is by no means a certainty, but they may struggle to dedicate enough of their transfer budget to pursuing the midfielder.

Erik ten Hag has been keen to find a long-term striker since Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure, and may prioritise bringing in a forward such as highly-rated Napoli star Victor Osimhen, who has been linked with the club for some time.
