Alex Kei made history when he became the youngest player to appear for a professional sports team in the USA – aged just 13.
Kei featured for USL Championship side Real Monarchs in their game against Colorado Springs Switchbacks on Friday.
The striker, born on December 30, 2007, came on for Bobby Wood just after the hour mark as the Monarchs were held to a 0-0 draw.
And while he couldn't help his side make the breakthrough, he did earn a place in the record books.
But football fans weren't convinced he was only 13 when news of his feat emerged on social media – along with a picture of him which sparked memes galore.
There's always that one lad in school who towers over everybody else after an early growth spurt – but some still found it hard to believe Kei has been a teenager for less than a year.
One fan posted the "How do you do, fellow kids" meme – picturing a character played by a then 55-year-old Steve Buscemi posing as a high school student in US comedy 30 Rock.
Another meme to make an appearance was "How old are you? Motherf***er you look 30" from the film Bad Boys 2.
And plenty of fans reposted the picture of Kei as they shared their disbelief at his age.
"Dude is at least 19 possibly older…," wrote one fan, while another joked: "Was he born on a leap year?"
"You having a laugh? Geeza looks older than me," posted another.
Another said "If he's 13, then I'm Elon musk", while one simply tweeted: "He's never 13!" along with several laughing emojis.

"When you're born on a leap decade," said one.
Another said: "So this dude was born after Pokémon Diamond came out I.. I think I need a minute."
Another posted a picture of himself as a 13-year-old, saying: "What the f*** are they feeding kids these days man??? This was me at 13, now tell me if I would be able to fend off 28-year-old 100 kg defenders at this point in my life."
