Zlatan Ibrahimovic blasts Sweden coach as a 'f***ing joke' after France defeat

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has called Sweden head coach Janne Andersson a ‘f***ing joke’ after he benched Dejan Kulusevski for his side’s defeat to France on Saturday evening.

Kulusevski has established himself as one of Sweden’s brightest prospects following his impressive performances in Serie A and made a £29.7 million move to Juventus in January before being loaned to Parma.

Kulusevski, who scored 10 goals and registered eight assists during his loan spell with Parma last term, was only named as a substitute for Sweden’s match against the world champions on Saturday.

And Ibrahimovic, who has earned 116 caps for Sweden, hit out at Andersson’s decision to bring on Kulusevski with only 20 minutes remaining.

‘What a f***ing joke,’ the former Manchester United striker wrote on Twitter.

‘Further proof. Incompetent people in the wrong positions smothering Swedish football.’

Meanwhile, Kulusevski admitted he was ‘shocked’ by the decision after Sweden’s 1-0 defeat.

‘No, no, I don’t think so. I was shocked,’ Kulusevski said when asked if his second-half cameo was enough time to make an impact.

‘It felt really, really good in training. But unfortunately, that’s how football is.’

Andersson, however, disputes that Kulusevski was surprised by the decision to start the game on the bench.

‘I haven’t spoken to him afterwards but if he has said it then that is clearly his opinion. We’ll have to talk about it,’ said Sweden’s head coach.

‘I haven’t experienced him as being very shocked.

‘He has done well in the training sessions, as have many others.’
