Conor McGregor is undoubtedly the biggest draw in UFC. The Notorious is set to step back into the Octagon later this month, when he faces American Dustin Poirier at UFC 257.
McGregor will return to action for the first time since January 2020, when he won via TKO against Donald Cerrone, just 40 seconds into the first round.
The Irishman is believed to have pocketed around $3million for that fight, but is set to beat that against Poirier with a reported $5m purse.
That is set to take his career earnings close to $20m, by far the most of any mixed martial arts star in history.
However, while he may be top of total earnings, a recent study has shown his money hasn’t come as economically as other.
In a study conducted by Bonus.Ca, the top 30 highest earning fights in MMA history have been examined, looking at how much money each fighter has earned per strike.
And that honour bizarrely goes to Ronda Rousey during her failed return to UFC in 2016.
That bout went down as a massive failure for the Hall of Famer, when she was brutally knocked out by Amanda Nunes in the first round
But with Rousey’s purse at £2.3m, she earned £330,000 for each of the seven strikes she landed.
Behind Rousey is McGregor’s opponent at UFC 194 in December 2015. Jose Aldo went into that clash on a decade-long unbeaten streak, but lost in sensational circumstances, when he was knocked out just 13 seconds into the first round.

Aldo managed to land just one strike in the stunning defeat, meaning he picked up a massive £308,000 for his solitary blow.
In the same fight, McGregor picked up a relatively paltry £77,000 per blow, due to landing five in the 13 seconds of action.
Other notable names in the top 10, include Brock Lesnar, who managed to land 13 strikes at £23k a pop, in his first round defeat to Cain Velasquez in October 2010.
Meanwhile, Khabib Nurmagomedov picked up £14k for each of his 104 strikes on McGregor during his win over McGregor in 2018.
