A shell shocked Manchester United kicked off their Saturday afternoon clash against Nottingham Forest by going down 2-0 inside the opening four minutes at Old Trafford.

After just 90 seconds, Erik ten Hag's side found themselves 1-0 down against Nottingham Forest, with striker Taiwo Awoniyi outmuscling Marcus Rashford to sprint clear of the trailing Man United defenders, slotting cooly past Andre Onana.

Then, two minutes later, centre-back Willy Boly found the back of the net from a Brennan Johnson free-kick, giving Steve Cooper's men a 2-0 lead at Old Trafford before Man United had barely had a kick of the ball.

In total, the two goals took just three minutes and 47 seconds for Nottingham Forest to score, which is the earliest ManUnited have ever trailed by two in a Premier League game.

It was a nightmare start for ten Hag's side, who were well beaten last weekend by Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in a game that saw their midfielder of Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount dismantled.

Thankfully, they were able to claw a goal back through Christian Eriksen, who managed to turn in a cross from Rashford to get Man United back into the contest on 17 minutes.

Thankfully for Man United, they weren't the only team to go behind early doors on Saturday afternoon, with rivals Arsenal also conceding in the opening minute against Fulham courtesy of a goal from Andreas Pereira.
