Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly the favourite to succeed Rudi Voller as the new head coach of Germany. Ex-Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is also on the list and “ready” to take on the role.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Liverpool have been given a huge reprieve with Jurgen Klopp being struck out of contention despite interest from the German FA. According to Sky Sports,\u00a0Former Fulham boss Felix Magath and Matthias Sammer are also in consideration for the position.<\/p>\n
Voller has temporarily taken charge as a caretaker manager after the sacking of\u00a0Hansi Flick on Sunday and will step down once a suitable replacement is found. The 63-year-old is understood to view Nagelsmann as the “dream solution” although he remained coy when asked about the process ahead of his first game in charge against France yesterday.<\/p>\n
“Obviously there are names that are floating in the discussions we have but I have learned in this business not to comment on any names,” he said. “I am convinced that in three and a half weeks we will present a new coach.”<\/p>\n

The German national association are yet to make contact with Nagelsmann at the time of writing, who remains under contract at Bayern Munich until 2026 after being axed from his role as head coach earlier this year. Van Gaal, on the other hand, will be much easier to acquire having been out of a job since 2022.<\/p>\n
The 76-year-old’s last role was as manager of the Netherlands national team, a position he gave up in 2014 to join Manchester United before returning to the post in 2021. During his two seasons at Old Trafford, he picked up an FA Cup but was unable to return the Red Devils to their former glory.<\/p>\n
