{"id":288660,"date":"2023-09-14T13:34:12","date_gmt":"2023-09-14T13:34:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportstoft.com\/?p=288660"},"modified":"2023-09-14T13:34:12","modified_gmt":"2023-09-14T13:34:12","slug":"ex-aftv-star-mr-dt-celebrates-one-year-since-his-release-from-prison","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportstoft.com\/soccer\/ex-aftv-star-mr-dt-celebrates-one-year-since-his-release-from-prison\/","title":{"rendered":"Ex-AFTV star &apos;Mr DT&apos; celebrates one year since his release from prison"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Former Arsenal Fan TV star &#8216;Mr DT&#8217; celebrates one year since getting out of prison for stalking and kidnapping his ex-girlfriend&#8230; and can&#8217;t resist a dig at &#8216;fake friends&#8217; he used to work with<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Liam Goodenough became well known as Mr.DT for online rants about Arsenal\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Goodenough was axed from the channel after after receiving a prison sentence<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The vlogger has marked one year since his release with posts on social media\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Former\u00a0Arsenal\u00a0Fan TV star Mr.DT has celebrated one year since being released from prison by stating that he is &#8216;rebuilding his life&#8217;, while he criticised the &#8216;fake friends&#8217; he used to work with on the YouTube channel.<\/p>\n<p>Mr.DT, whose real name is Liam Goodenough, was jailed for\u00a0stalking and kidnapping an ex-partner.<\/p>\n<p>He was initially\u00a0sentenced to 12 months&#8217; imprisonment and a 10-year restraining order in November 2021 by\u00a0Aylesbury Crown Court.<\/p>\n<p>The sentence was increased to three years by the\u00a0Court of Appeal last January, who found the\u00a0original punishment to be &#8216;unduly lenient.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Mr DT. had become well known through his regular rants on\u00a0Arsenal<span>\u00a0Fan TV &#8211; now\u00a0<\/span>AFTV &#8211; about Arsenal.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/14\/13\/75428247-12517909-image-a-40_1694693731641.jpg\" height=\"634\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Liam Goodenough, better known as MrDT, was released from prison last September<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/14\/12\/72074619-12517909-Goodenough_was_convicted_of_stalking_and_kidnapping_an_ex_partne-a-18_1694692425695.jpg\" height=\"475\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Goodenough was convicted of\u00a0stalking and kidnapping an ex-partner back in November 2021<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/14\/12\/75427401-12517909-image-a-20_1694692678559.jpg\" height=\"195\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>MrDT celebrated the one-year anniversary of his release from prison on social media<\/p>\n<p>Since his release from prison last September, Goodenough has posted videos to his own YouTube channel, which currently has\u00a0258,000 subscribers.<\/p>\n<p>The vlogger marked one year since his release from prison on X &#8211; formerly Twitter &#8211; by stating that he is &#8216;rebuilding his life&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I was released from prison one year ago. I have worked hard to turn my life around and grown so much as a person,&#8217; he wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I have the most amazing friends and family who have supported me throughout. Whilst in prison, I could find myself again, but I had to go through so much to see it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I lost my Dad to suicide while in prison, and I also became a father again. I have recently become a Grandad, and I have now moved to a new home and have all my children back where they belong. My business is growing, and my football club has gone from strength to strength.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I know some people will never forgive me, and I am an easy target for those who cannot debate football and find it easier to throw insults at me. But I am never going to let them affect my life. I have learnt a lot about those who I thought had my back.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>AFTV had distanced itself from\u00a0Goodenough following his conviction, stating the channel was\u00a0&#8216;utterly appalled and disgusted&#8217; by his actions.<\/p>\n<p>The channel added that he would would no longer appear on the outlet.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/14\/12\/75427367-12517909-image-a-19_1694692587819.jpg\" height=\"455\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Arsenal Fan TV &#8211; now AFTV &#8211; distanced themselves from MrDT following his conviction<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/14\/12\/75427407-12517909-image-a-23_1694692742538.jpg\" height=\"181\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The vlogger aimed a dig at his former colleagues by suggesting they were fake friends<\/p>\n<p>Goodenough has aimed a dig as his former colleagues, who he accused of being &#8216;fake friends&#8217;.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;In this industry, people work with you when they need something, not because they like you. There are no real friends here,&#8217; he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I am not the finished article, and I doubt any of us ever will be, but I won&#8217;t change my passion for football and saying it how it is.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It may be why I had so many people watch me. You cannot fake it. You cannot pretend. It was raw, genuine emotions. Unlike others you see today. Here&#8217;s to the next year and growing further, rebuilding my life and being happy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I want to work with prisoners and help them change their lives so they don&#8217;t go back. If I can help one person, then that&#8217;s a start. Who knows, maybe Arsenal can even win the league for me.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Thank you to all who are continuing this journey with me. I won&#8217;t ever forget it. As one of my children said, sometimes good people make mistakes, but it doesn&#8217;t mean they are a bad person. Now, let&#8217;s go and make some real content.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The vlogger had hit back at online abuse earlier this year, after claiming he had &#8216;served his time&#8217; for a &#8216;mistake&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/14\/13\/72074663-12517909-Goodenough_said_he_would_not_address_the_incident_on_his_return_-a-24_1694692939202.jpg\" height=\"301\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Goodenough has claimed he wants to work with prisoners to help them change their lives<\/p>\n<p>The former\u00a0Solicitor General, Alex Chalk, said that &#8216;Goodenough subjected the victim to a shocking and frightening ordeal&#8217; when welcoming the decision to increase his prison sentence last year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Goodenough, 42, stalked his former partner as she went on a date, jealously sending the victim\u2019s brother messages threatening suicide and demanding to know the location of the victim,&#8217; the Attorney General&#8217;s Office said at the time.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Using a tracking feature on her phone, Goodenough drove to the hotel the victim was staying at and verbally abused her, as well as assaulting her companion. He then proceeded to photograph her in a state of undress.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Goodenough dragged the victim out of the hotel room to his car, suggesting he had a knife and that her son was in the vehicle. However, when she realised that her son was not in the car she tried to escape.
