Erik ten Hag’s agent Kees Vos is in advanced negotiations about signing Manchester United midfield player Sofyan Amrabat to his Sports Entertainment Group agency.

The Dutch company represented United when they completed Amrabat’s loan signing of Fiorentina last month and are close to reaching an agreement to add the Moroccan international midfield player to their stable of over 600 players.

Amrabat is understood to have been impressed by Vos’ work in facilitating his move from Fiorentina in difficult circumstances on transfer deadline day, and is keen to join his agency, who also represent Pep Guardiola.

The 27-year-old has yet to make his debut due to a back injury, but is hopeful of turning the loan into a permanent move as United have secured an option to buy him for around £20million next summer.

Amrabat would become the second current United player on SEG’s books after fellow summer signing Rasmus Hojlund, in addition to Ten Hag.

Sofyan Amrabat could become the latest player to sign for the Sports Entertainment Group agency run by Erik ten Hag’s agent Kees Vos

Vos’ agency SEG played a key role in United’s deals for Rasmus Hojlund (L) and Amrabat (R)

SEG were also involved in talks to sell Harry Maguire to West Ham before talks collapsed

As Mail Sport reported earlier this week some staff at United have expressed concerns over SEG’s growing influence over transfers at Old Trafford, but the club insist that their senior leadership team are comfortable with the situation.

Mail Sport also revealed this week that Ten Hag’s son, Nigel, is employed by SEG as a performance analyst.

In addition to negotiating the Hojlund and Amrabat signings, the agency were also involved in informal talks over the proposed sale of Harry Maguire to West Ham last summer, as well as negotiating Zidane Iqbal’s £1m move from United to Utrecht.

Vos won the mandate to represent Hojlund this summer following a competitive tender process that began last January, which involved his parents interviewing 36 different agents before compiling a shortlist of eight.

SEG eventually won the contract in June following an exhaustive process in which their agents were interviewed multiple times.
