Liverpool have announced that summer signing Dominik Szobszolai has had his name printed on the most shirts so far this season. Mohamed Salah has been the Reds’ most popular player since his arrival from AS Roma in 2017, but the Egypt international has now lost his crown.

Jurgen Klopp orchestrated a major shuffle at Anfield during the transfer window, allowing ‘the old guard’ – such as Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and James Milner – to depart in order to raise funds and create space for new arrivals.

Alexis Mac Allister, Szobsozlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch arrived as a result, and the quartet have all proved incredibly marketable due to their differing nations. Homegrown star Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dutch duo Virgil van Dijk, the new captain, and Cody Gakpo also make the top 10.

The club have announced that Szobszolai is the best-selling player at the club, however, following his £60million summer move from RB Salzburg. The playmaker arrived with the reputation of being a creative midfielder who would inject attacking quality into the squad, and it did not take fans long to get behind the signing.

The winger has relished being the marquee star on Merseyside over the years, and he will be hoping that his rejection of Saudi Pro League approaches will see his shirt sales soar.

Another new signing, Mac Allister, then completed the top three on the Liverpool retail list, with Alexander-Arnold in fourth and Darwin Nunez in fifth. After injuries struck last season, Luis Diaz has dropped four places down to sixth, with shock inclusion Alisson selling the seventh-most shirts despite being a goalkeeper.

We use your sign-up to provide content in ways you’ve consented to and to improve our understanding of you. Diogo Jota, Harvey Elliott and Ibrahima Konate are the most notable omissions from the list, potentially paying the price for being a part of such an incredibly talented squad.

Gravenberch was also missing from the top 10, though his summer transfer move did come on deadline day and therefore many fans will have had their shirts printed beforehand when the season started.

Given his £34m switch from Bayern Munich was well-received by fans, it would be a shock if the 21-year-old does not prove popular in years to come.

Source: Read Full Article

Wolves V Liverpool: Pictures Liverpool have announced that summer signing Dominik Szobszolai has had his name printed on the most shirts so far this season.
