Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag may have himself to blame if neither Sheikh Jassim nor Sir Jim Ratcliffe stump up the money to meet the Glazer family\u2019s asking price to purchase the club. A resolution does not appear in sight as almost a year has gone by since the Glazers initially confirmed that they were open to selling the Red Devils.<\/p>\n

Discussions continue to be ongoing but The Times have claimed that United\u2019s disappointing start to the season is causing prospective bidders to be further reluctant when it comes to meeting the Glazers\u2019 asking price – upwards of \u00a35billion – to take over at Old Trafford amid a lengthy takeover saga.<\/p>\n

A dark cloud has descended over the club to begin the campaign, as they sit 13th in the Premier League table after a disappointing start that has seen Ten Hag\u2019s side win just two of their opening five games. There have been questions regarding the club\u2019s summer transfer business also, with Mason Mount, Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund, Altay Bayindir, Sergio Reguilon, Sofyan Amrabat and Jonny Evans all joining the club.<\/p>\n

None have made the impact that Ten Hag will have hoped to begin with, while United chief executive Richard Arnold has also been forced to address the club\u2019s staff over issues surrounding Antony and Mason Greenwood.<\/p>\n

Jassim and Ratcliffe have both bid over \u00a35bn but the current owners are asking for more, but the club\u2019s form in addition to controversies surrounding Sancho, Antony and Greenwood appear to be doing little help in order to convince the two parties to improve their offers – as an impasse remains.<\/p>\n

Ten Hag will hope he can turn around United\u2019s form regardless and his side\u00a0travelto Burnley on Saturday to play a Vincent Kompany side still awaiting their first win since being promoted to the Premier League.<\/p>\n

United supporters have continued to protest the Glazers\u2019 ownership and held a 60-minute sit-in at Old Trafford after their 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest in August.<\/p>\n

But issues on and off the pitch are causing the likes of Jassim and Ratcliffe to be reluctant to improve their offers – while the Glazers do not appear willing to come down from their valuation of the club.<\/p>\n
