Son Heung-min believes Arsenal are worried they are having to face a Tottenham side with its Premier League tails right up at the moment. The white half of north London head into the derby on Sunday on the back of four successive league wins – a run that has lifted them above Arsenal into second place.

Last year Arsenal did the double over their neighbours for the first time in nine seasons, and now Son feels the time is right for revenge. “I know what it means for the club, the fans and players as well,” said the South Korean.

“We should understand what kind of game it is. It’s going to be a really difficult game but they won’t want to face us at this time.

“We just have to give it everything we have and it will be a difficult game for both sides, but we’re looking forward to this game because it’s the right time to play against them. We’ll have a good game.

The players are ready and looking forward to it. I’m pretty sure they don’t want to face us at this moment.

“The result I can’t promise you, but one thing I can guarantee is we’re going to give everything for this club on Sunday.” Son is also hoping Arsenal’s midweek Champions League exertions in beating PSV Eindhoven 4-0 will count against them while Spurs have had a clear week to prepare.

We use your sign-up to provide content in ways you’ve consented to and to improve our understanding of you. Look, we had a tough year of away games, it was tough to take. Winning is never free.

“You go there and you won’t get three points for free. We wish we could get them for free. Go there, get three points and come back. It sounds easy but it’s never like that.”

On an individual level, Son has made an exciting start to the campaign with three goals in his first five Premier League games.

The 31-year-old has taken the captain’s armband since Harry Kane’s summer move to Bayern Munich, and he has also stepped into the England captain’s favoured spot up top.

Buzzing in behind Son to try and take the fight to Arsenal will be James Maddison, who has already endeared himself to Spurs fans with a string of impressive performances, and indeed manager Ange Postecoglou by relishing his role in the squad’s leadership group.

Source: Read Full Article

Ange Postecoglou hails ‘professional’ Hugo Lloris with Tottenham exit on cards Son Heung-min believes Arsenal are worried they are having to face a Tottenham side […]

[19
