{"id":290202,"date":"2023-09-27T09:35:11","date_gmt":"2023-09-27T09:35:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportstoft.com\/?p=290202"},"modified":"2023-09-27T09:35:11","modified_gmt":"2023-09-27T09:35:11","slug":"fifas-new-caps-on-agent-fees-and-commission-will-be-delayed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportstoft.com\/soccer\/fifas-new-caps-on-agent-fees-and-commission-will-be-delayed\/","title":{"rendered":"FIFA&apos;s new caps on agent fees and commission will be DELAYED"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>FIFA&#8217;s new caps on agent fees and commission will be DELAYED in Britain after four of the country&#8217;s biggest agencies launched legal action to stop the FA from implementing the changes<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>New FIFA regulations planned to limit what agents could receive in commission<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span>However, the new regulations will be delayed after agents launched\u00a0legal action\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Mail Sport&#8217;s new WhatsApp Channel: Get the breaking news and exclusives here\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Leading British agents have succeeded in delaying the introduction of new FIFA regulations limiting their commission to three per cent of player salaries that were due to come into operation this weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Four of the country\u2019s biggest agencies &#8211; CAA Base, Wasserman, Stellar and ARETE &#8211; launched legal action in an attempt to block the FA from implementing FIFA\u2019s changes earlier this summer, with a private arbitration hearing taking place in London last week.<\/p>\n<p>Mail Sport has learned that all parties were informed this morning that the tribunal will deliver its verdict on or before 30 November, with the introduction of the new rules delayed until the decision is confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>The agents are arguing that the limits on commission will not control costs, but encourage clubs to find alternative ways of paying agent fees to ensure they are able to buy the best talent. As well as a three per cent commission limit on all player salaries over \u00a3161,000 FIFA\u2019s new rules will limit payments to agents for brokering transfers to ten per cent of the fee.<\/p>\n<p>FIFA had originally proposed that players should pay agents out of their own salaries as a way of reducing fees, but that was idea dropped.
