Wilfried Zaha taunted Manchester United fans by cupping his ears after scoring on his Champions League return to Old Trafford.

The Galatasaray winger silenced the United faithful after they had taken the lead in the 17th minute with Rasmus Hojlund. Zaha hit back just six minutes later, capitalising on a long ball which was poorly dealt with by defender Diogo Dalot.

The Ivorian shrugged off the Portuguese international before attempting a half-volley. And he had plenty of fortune as his strike deflected off Dalot and looped over Andre Onana.

There was no love lost between the former Red Devils man and his old fans as he rushed over to celebrate in front of the home support. Zaha then proceeded to cup both ears with his hands while sporting a savage grin.

One fan on Twitter reacted to the celebration by posting: "Major s***house Zaha!" while another tweeted: "Zaha always had a point to prove against Manchester United."

A third pointed out: "Script was well written 10 years ago," and a fourth added: "I love that the ENTIRE PLANET loved that Zaha goal and celebration."

Others chimed in by tweeting: "Zaha planned that celebration," and: "Ahahah Zaha. Absolutely love that celebration."

Zaha joined United in 2013 but only made four appearances for the club, while he was also twice sent out on loan before returning to Crystal Palace. But the Galatasaray forward insisted he is no longer "bothered" by his dismal time with United

"I'll be honest, when you look at my face do you think I am bothered at all? No," he said pre-match. "I went through a phase in my career, you either build from it or die. It built my character. I was determined not to let my career die out."

And he went on to make a comment about the Old Trafford atmosphere which surely would have riled up a section to the United fans ahead of Tuesday's tie.

Asked if he briefed his Galatasaray team-mates about United's atmosphere, Zaha said: "No, Not really. I don't know if you have ever been to a Galatasaray game. It's the loudest thing you'll ever hear. It's not about Manchester United, Its about what we can do."
