{"id":290995,"date":"2023-10-03T21:25:33","date_gmt":"2023-10-03T21:25:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportstoft.com\/?p=290995"},"modified":"2023-10-03T21:25:33","modified_gmt":"2023-10-03T21:25:33","slug":"rc-lens-equalise-against-arsenal-with-a-stunning-finish","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportstoft.com\/soccer\/rc-lens-equalise-against-arsenal-with-a-stunning-finish\/","title":{"rendered":"RC Lens equalise against Arsenal with a STUNNING finish"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>David Raya mistake sees Arsenal throw away lead against Lens in the Champions League&#8230; as Spanish goalkeeper&#8217;s misplaced pass is punished by stunning Adrien Thomasson finish<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>RC Lens scored a terrific equaliser in the first-half of their clash with Arsenal\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Adrien Thomasson curled an effort into the net after an error by David Raya<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Click HERE to listen to the latest episode of Mail Sport&#8217;s &#8216;It&#8217;s All Kicking Off&#8217;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya had a moment to forget in his side&#8217;s Champions League clash with Lens after gifting the host a crucial equalising goal.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Gunners took the lead in their Champions League group stage clash through Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus&#8217; strike in the 13th minute of the match.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, the lead for Mikel Arteta&#8217;s side was short-lived with the hosts hitting back in the 25th minute thanks to a curling effort from Adrien Thomasson.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The opportunity stemmed from an error by the Gunners&#8217; Spanish goalkeeper, who looked to fire a pass out to full-back Takehiro Tomiyasu.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, the effort was intercepted by Lens and they countered in style, quickly firing the ball up to forward Elye Wahi.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/03\/21\/76130841-12590251-image-a-1_1696364269181.jpg\" height=\"425\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Adrien Thomasson wheels away in celebration after scoring against Arsenal on Tuesday<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/03\/21\/76130849-12590251-image-a-2_1696364272573.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The RC Lens forward curled an effort into the back of the net after a mistake by David Raya<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>The striker did well to control the ball and lay it off to Thomasson, who unleashed a curling effort into the top corner of the net.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s been much debate in recent weeks over Arteta&#8217;s decision to rotate his goalkeepers &#8211; with Aaron Ramsdale taking on a lesser role than he did last season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Arteta&#8217;s decision has caused a stir with some praising the Arsenal manager&#8217;s ruthless move, while others believe Ramsdale has been unfairly treated.<\/p>\n<p>Arteta has suggested he could even opt to change goalkeepers during the game and will make a decision on a game by game basis.<\/p>\n<p>Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has questioned the decision from the Gunners boss and insisted he&#8217;s &#8216;puzzled&#8217; by the treatment of Ramsdale.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking exclusively to\u00a0<span>Mail Sport<\/span>, the former goalkeeper said: &#8216;What he&#8217;s doing is what he spoke about. He&#8217;s making sure they all get game time.
