England and New Zealand will go head-to-head in the opening game of the Cricket World Cup in India.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Jos Butler’s men come into the tournament as holders after they won their first-ever Cricket World Cup back in 2019 against the Kiwis in the most dramatic match the sport has ever seen.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Eoin Morgan\u2019s side tied the final with the Kiwis on 241 runs each \u2013 and then both astonishingly scored 15 runs in the supposedly tie-breaking super-over. Fans held their breath as New Zealand\u2019s batsman Martin Guptill dived in a bid to score a winning 16th run but England wicket-keeper Jos Buttler managed to gather the ball and run him out by just inches. It meant the home side triumphed because they scored more boundaries \u2013 sending fans at Lord\u2019s into delirium.\u00a0<\/p>\n
