He said Rory looked at him and said, &#8216;Mooove&#8217;. And he made the &#8216;ooo&#8217; last a little longer. And Joe replied, &#8216;Relax, Rory,&#8217; Couples said.<\/p>\n<p>McIlroy and his teammates were left incensed when LaCava, Patrick Cantlay&#8217;s caddie, celebrated in front of the Northern Irishman and entered his line of vision as he prepared for a crucial putt.<\/p>\n<p>However, Couples said, &#8216;I want someone to tell me where anything that happened is disrespectful. I didn&#8217;t see it. Patrick screamed, which he doesn&#8217;t do very often and he tipped his fake cap.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/07\/16\/76017225-12605215-The_Northern_Irishman_reportedly_argued_with_Patrick_Cantlay_s_c-a-33_1696693855229.jpg\" height=\"452\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Rory McIlroy had argued with Patrick Cantlay&#8217;s caddie Joe LaCava on the 18th hole<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/07\/16\/76017241-12605215-Rory_McIlroy_launched_into_a_livid_rant_at_someone_while_leaving-a-34_1696694068231.jpg\" height=\"345\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>McIlroy then launched into a livid rant while leaving Marco Simeone the same day<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We all were on the front of the green,&#8217; Couples said. &#8216;No one moved. We just took our hats off and made little circles with our hats.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0&#8216;Joe LaCava was standing [on the green]. I don&#8217;t think he moved two feet. People think he shushed Rory when he did that hand gesture,&#8217; Couples continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0&#8216;Little Harry Diamond, who we all love, too, caddies for Rory, then he chimed in. So Joe said, &#8221;I don&#8217;t have time for you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>McIlroy&#8217;s teammates Shane Lowry and Justin Rose, who had gathered to watch, also spoke to LaCava.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/07\/16\/76279251-12605215-image-a-35_1696694175968.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Shane Lowry and Fred Couples speak on the 18th green during Saturday of the Ryder Cup<\/p>\n<p>Tensions later spilled over onto the car park, as a raging McIlroy could be heard shouting \u2018This can\u2019t happen, this can\u2019t happen \u2013 it\u2019s a f*****g disgrace&#8217; at LaCava, with a security guard forced to step in before teammate Shane Lowry guided him to a waiting BMW 4&#215;4.<\/p>\n<p>Another US caddie, Jim \u2018Bones\u2019 Mackay appeared to be trying to ease the situation before a security guard attempted to step in.
