Tiger Woods could make an appearance at the Hero World Challenge tournament late this Nov., almost six months after withdrawing from the Masters at Augusta National in April with an injury. The 47-year-old has been linked with a return to action having recently been spotted teeing off, and could feature at the annual tournament, which he has hosted since 2000.

Woods has been out of action since suffering a plantar fasciitis in his foot, which resulted in him needing a surgical procedure to treat his post-traumatic arthritis. The injury was inflicted following his career-threatening car crash in 2021 which saw him sustain severe leg injuries.

He has only featured twice this year, including his brief showing at the Masters. The 15-time major winner appeared at The Genesis Invitational at the Riviera Country Club in Feb. where he finished the event tied in 45th.

However, the golfer could still make another appearance on the fairways this year at the Hero World Challenge, according to Golf Channel and NBC reporter Todd Lewis who posted on X: “I believe there is a good chance we will see @TigerWoods tee it up at the Hero World Challenge later this year.”

The tournament, which is part of the PGA Tour schedule, sees 20 top-ranked golfers participate at Albany, Bahamas. Players including Viktor Hovland, Henrik Stenson, Jon Rahm and Rickie Fowler have competed in recent years. The event is organized as a benefit for Tiger Woods’ TGR Foundation which helps create and support community-based programs for children in America.

Woods will be eager to join having recently been spotted preparing to make a comeback to the sport. The three-time US Open winner was seen hosting the TGR Jr. Invitational this weekend at Pebble Beach Resorts where he was filmed making a chip shot onto the fairway in a video posted on X.

The video follows another recent clip which was posted in early Sept. showing the World Golf Hall of Famer taking to the range at Liberty National in New Jersey. Woods can be seen alongside fellow PGA Tour stars Will Zalatoris and Rickie Fowler where he was giving out advice with a club in hand.
