Liverpool and Everton will face off for the 243rd time on Saturday lunchtime in the season\u2019s first Merseyside derby.<\/p>\n
These two fierce rivals have been doing battle since 1894 \u2014 when Everton beat Liverpool 3-0 in front of 44,000 fans at Goodison Park, two years after leaving Anfield and moving across Stanley Park.<\/p>\n
In the 129 years since, Liverpool have built an impressive lead in the head-to-head standings, winning 98 to Everton\u2019s 67, with 77 draws. And Ian Rush\u2019s 25 goals are the most by a player in the fixture.<\/p>\n
