    Sir Bobby Charlton, who has died at the age of 86, once shared the secret of Manchester United's success with one of Sir Alex Ferguson\u2019s most trusted lieutenants. <\/p>\n

    The Old Trafford icon passed away in the early hours of Saturday morning, October 21. Charlton played 758 games and scored 249 goals during 17 years as a United player. He won the European Cup, three league titles and the FA Cup before serving as a club director for 39 years.<\/p>\n

    Charlton famously won the World Cup with England, scoring 49 goals and winning 106 caps for his country. The death of one of football's biggest icons has triggered a wave of tributes from across the game. <\/p>\n

    Having worked with numerous managers, coaches, players and directors at Old Trafford, Charlton was always on hand to offer timely advice. He shared one vital pearl of wisdom with one of the club\u2019s most important assistant managers, Carlos Queiroz, who worked under Ferguson either side of a managerial stint at Real Madrid. <\/p>\n

    Speaking in 2020, as he addressed United\u2019s struggles since the departure of Sir Alex, Queiroz told Wradio: \u201cIt is very difficult to recover your space in this Premier League, the other teams have a lot of quality. But I am going to tell you two tips that are applicable for Manchester United and that also apply to Colombia. <\/p>\n
