{"id":292823,"date":"2023-10-23T20:25:52","date_gmt":"2023-10-23T20:25:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportstoft.com\/?p=292823"},"modified":"2023-10-23T20:25:52","modified_gmt":"2023-10-23T20:25:52","slug":"jamie-carragher-says-spurs-fans-delighted-with-champions-league-spot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportstoft.com\/soccer\/jamie-carragher-says-spurs-fans-delighted-with-champions-league-spot\/","title":{"rendered":"Jamie Carragher says Spurs fans &apos;delighted&apos; with Champions League spot"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Jamie Carragher argues Spurs fans would be &#8216;delighted&#8217; with a place in the Champions League spots on Monday Night Football&#8230; and Wolves manager Gary O&#8217;Neil praises Ange Postecoglou&#8217;s outlook<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Jamie Carragher was on Sky Sports Monday Night Football before Spurs&#8217; match<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Tottenham made a good start to the season and could go top if they beat Fulham<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>\u00a0Listen to the latest episode of Mail Sport&#8217;s podcast It&#8217;s All Kicking Off!<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Jamie Carragher has argued Tottenham fans will be &#8216;delighted&#8217; should their side finish in the Champions League spots at the end of the season.<\/p>\n<p>Spurs have had an electric start to this season&#8217;s campaign, going unbeaten and could go top of the league with a win against Fulham.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It is a welcome respite from the dour football often played under Nuno Espirito Santo, Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on Sky Sports Monday Night Football, Carragher highlighted how a Champions League spot is still a good result come the end of the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Also on MNF was Wolves manager Gary O&#8217;Neil who addressed Spurs success under Ange Postecoglou.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/23\/20\/76904445-12663179-image-a-33_1698087824579.jpg\" height=\"357\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Jamie Carragher insisted Spurs fans would be happy should they qualify for the Champions League<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/23\/20\/76904455-12663179-image-a-34_1698087829106.jpg\" height=\"442\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Tottenham have been electric so far this season and are currently unbeaten in the league<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>Carragher insisted:\u00a0&#8216;I don\u2019t think most Spurs supporters you speak to, I don\u2019t think they are getting too carried away in terms of thinking about the title.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I think you\u2019d be delighted about the Champions League positions. But when you look at that near the bottom, they were in a great position this time last year, they finished eighth.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;But its not just about results here it\u2019s about the football they\u2019re playing, and the fact that Tottenham\u00a0supporters are going to the game looking forward to watching their team play \u2013 which it has been, maybe not so much under Conte, but maybe under Jose, Nuno \u2013 all a certain kind of manager and that\u2019s where the excitement comes from.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Former Bournemouth boss O&#8217;Neil was the guest on Sky, and he spoke at length about the change in Spurs style and how the team compares with Man City and Arsenal\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>O&#8217;Neil said: &#8216;Ange is uncompromising in what he wants.
