The on-loan Manchester United man is yet to hit top gear in La Liga as he looks to rebuild his career away from Old Trafford.<\/p>\n<p>Greenwood has been thrust into unfamiliar surroundings this term after spending more than 18 months away from the pitch. On loan at Getafe for the 2023\/24 season, the 22-year-old will hope to rediscover the form that saw him reach double figures in consecutive seasons as a teenager with the Red Devils.<\/p>\n<p>Fans of the Madrid-based outfit are yet to see Greenwood at his best, with only one goal to show for his six appearances thus far. The forward started against Real Betis on Saturday, but it was his strike partner, Borja Mayoral, who scored the equaliser in a 1-1 draw.<\/p>\n<p>The pressure on Greenwood to perform is only set to increase over the coming weeks after experienced campaigner Mauro Arambarri came off injured at the weekend.<\/p>\n<p> <strong> Don&#8217;t miss&#8230; <\/strong> <strong>Jordan Henderson and Steven Gerrard hit embarrassing new career lows in Saudi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/67\/590x\/secondary\/5029330.jpg?r=1698142198018\"><\/p>\n<p>The 28-year-old midfielder is a long-serving member of the Getafe squad, making almost 150 appearances for the first team. But reports indicate that he will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on a partially torn meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament.<\/p>\n<p>Getafe are already missing star striker Enes Unal, who has scored 36 goals in 104 games for the club, to a long-term knee injury. The 26-year-old, formerly of Real Madrid, has scored five league goals in 2023\/24, which is more than double that of his closest team-mate, and five times as many as Greenwood.<\/p>\n<p>Back in August, United spoke out on the striker&#8217;s future after conducting a lengthy internal investigation into allegations of attempted rape, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and controlling and coercive behaviour.\u00a0Greenwood denied the charges and they were dropped by prosecutors earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/67\/590x\/secondary\/5029334.jpg?r=1698142198230\"><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Based on the evidence available to us, we have concluded that the material posted online did not provide a full picture and that Mason did not commit the offences in respect of which he was originally charged,&#8221; read United&#8217;s statement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That said, as Mason publicly acknowledges today, he has made mistakes which he is taking responsibility for.
