{"id":293147,"date":"2023-10-26T20:24:02","date_gmt":"2023-10-26T20:24:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportstoft.com\/?p=293147"},"modified":"2023-10-26T20:24:02","modified_gmt":"2023-10-26T20:24:02","slug":"exclusive-burnley-in-talks-about-talent-share-agreement-with-dundee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportstoft.com\/soccer\/exclusive-burnley-in-talks-about-talent-share-agreement-with-dundee\/","title":{"rendered":"EXCLUSIVE: Burnley in talks about talent-share agreement with Dundee"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>EXCLUSIVE: Burnley are in talks about a talent-share agreement with Scottish side Dundee&#8230; as owners ALK Capital look to land a feeder club to boost Vincent Kompany&#8217;s side<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Dundee are discussing a proposal about becoming a feeder club for Burnley\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Burnley owners ALK Capital are eyeing a talent-share agreement between teams<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Listen to the latest episode of Mail Sport&#8217;s football podcast &#8216;It&#8217;s All Kicking Off!&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Burnley owners ALK Capital are in talks with Dundee over proposals to make the Scottish Premiership side a feeder club, <span>Mail Sport <\/span>can reveal.<\/p>\n<p>It is understood discussions over the collaboration have taken place in recent weeks in a deal that would initially see the clubs enter into a talent-share agreement.<\/p>\n<p>If ratified the venture could see Burnley secure first refusal on Dundee&#8217;s best players.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, the deal would also see Burnley&#8217;s most talented youngsters head north of the border to gain valuable first team experience.<\/p>\n<p>Clarets winger Marcel Lewis is already on loan at Dundee until January.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/26\/20\/77048085-0-image-a-6_1698347301590.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Burnley&#8217;s owners are in discussions with Dundee FC about a talent-share arrangement<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/26\/20\/77048069-12677363-image-a-17_1698347855995.jpg\" height=\"372\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The move would give Burnley first refusal on the Scottish side&#8217;s most promising young players<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>Sources have indicated Burnley&#8217;s American owners have shown an interest in a possible financial investment into the Dens Park outfit with a view to securing a stake in the club &#8211; but such an agreement have been described as premature from figures close to the ongoing talks.<\/p>\n<p>The potential partnership comes after ALK Capital showed an interest in purchasing Belgian side FC Kortrijk in a deal worth a reported \u00a313million earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>But while the transaction did not materialise, the American investment group remain interested in linking-up other clubs across Europe as they look to adopt a multi-club approach that has become popular throughout the global football landscape in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>Treble holders Manchester City are owned by Abu Dhabi-based City Football Group, while the Red Bull franchise has become one of the game&#8217;s most successful projects in world football.<\/p>\n<p>ALK Capital &#8211; whose managing director Alan Pace is also chairman at Turf Moor &#8211; acquired a controlling stake in Burnley, through its sports investment arm Velocity Sports Partners, in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>But they are keen to increase their involvement in football amid the proposed venture with Dundee, who are currently 10th in the Scottish top flight.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/26\/20\/77048105-0-image-a-7_1698347328011.jpg\" height=\"409\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Burnley winger Marcel Lewis is already out on loan at Dundee until the January window<\/p>\n<p>If the agreement is completed, Burnley would be following in the footsteps of Arsenal, with Inverness Caledonian Thistle, and Manchester United, with Livingston, in striking associations with Scottish clubs.<\/p>\n<p>Brighton and Hibernian also agreed a &#8216;strategic partnership&#8217; with an emphasis on player development in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Burnley striker Lyle Foster has signed a new five year deal at Turf Moor.<\/p>\n<p>The South Africa international is the club&#8217;s top scorer this season with three goals.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It is clear now important he is. He is happy and performing well,&#8217; said Burnley boss Vincent Kompany.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;It is not what he is showing on the pitch, he is dependable and hard working for the team and can compete at this level.
