Newcastle United\u00a0have confirmed that Sandro Tonali has been banned from competitive football for ten months.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The club wrote on their social media account that the ban will be effective from Friday October 27.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Tonali, who joined the Magpies from AC Milan\u00a0for \u00a355million,\u00a0will be ruled out for the rest of the season after reaching a plea bargain.<\/span><\/p>\n Italian FA chief Gabriele Gravina confirmed an agreement had been reached for a 10-month ban, including eight months of therapy, and praised Tonali’s collaboration in the process.<\/p>\n Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli has also received a seven-month ban for betting breaches.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Newcastle United confirmed that midfielder Sandro Tonali has been banned for 10 months<\/p>\n He was fined 12,500 euros (\u00a310,850) and also agreed to a therapy plan of at least six months to tackle his gambling problem.<\/p>\n Initial reports suggested Tonali was at risk of a 12-month ban after claims he had bet on AC Milan matches while on their books, before his \u00a352million summer move to Newcastle.<\/p>\n However, his admission of guilt and willingness to seek treatment for what his agent calls a \u2018gambling addiction\u2019 is believed to have helped him reduce the ban.
