Francis Ngannou’s reaction to his controversial points defeat to Tyson Fury has continued on social media, with the former UFC star agreeing with Conor McGregor’s suggestion that he kick out at the boxer.

Saturday night’s Battle of the Baddest saw the Cameroonian make his debut in the ring, and shocked many doubters with a gutsy performance that saw him go the distance with the heavyweight champion.

Ngannou can even boast that he knocked Fury to the canvas, putting down the Gypsy King in the third round of their mega-fight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Although two judges handed the fight in Fury’s favour, one backed Ngannou for what would have been one of the greatest upsets in boxing history, with many critics and pundits suggesting that Ngannou deserved the win.

The MMA star has now shockingly agreed with McGregor’s suggestion before the fight – perhaps made in jest – and indicated that he felt an illegal blow was struck during the encounter.

The Irish UFC icon joked that Ngannou should have ‘kicked the leg’ against the heavyweight

Footage showed Fury’s elbow appearing to make contact with Ngannou’s head during the bout

McGregor had called for Ngannou to ‘kick the leg’ against Fury ahead of the clash in the Middle East, which the 37-year-old lamented in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

‘He was right, I should’ve kick(ed) his f****** legs, I can’t believe that he elbowed me,’ Ngannou wrote.

Naturally, kicking out at Fury during the fight would likely have seen the Cameroonian disqualified, but it highlights his frustration at what is perceived as an unfair result.

Replays from the fight show that Fury’s elbow did make contact with the forehead of the MMA star, who has been vocal on social media about the result not going in his favour on Saturday night.

He posted a video on X of the punch that appeared to see Fury’s elbow make contact with his head, writing: ‘Unlike the superman punch, this was f****** illegal.
