Leicester City and Newcastle abandoned their Premier League 2 clash on Friday after a member of the home team’s staff was rushed to the hospital.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The sides were contesting an entertaining 2-2 draw when play was halted and medical assistance was provided to the individual.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Foxes confirmed that the tie has been abandoned shortly after and revealed their staff member had been transferred to a hospital as they awaited ‘further updates on his condition.’<\/p>\n
The club was able to announce the good news of his release a short time later. ‘\u00a0We are pleased to report that, following examination by on-site medics, the staff member has been released from observation to recover at home.’ A statement read.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘The Club expresses its thanks to Newcastle United, to the match officials and to on-duty medical staff for their cooperation, assistance and care.’<\/p>\n
