That&#8217;s all I could see that was possibly wrong.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;But then obviously there&#8217;s the three checks. Thankfully none of them were pulled up on.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>St James&#8217; Park played host to a feisty encounter that sparked into life following Kai Havertz&#8217;s late tackle on Sean Longstaff.\u00a0Newcastle players were up in arms and surrounded the referee after the German&#8217;s reckless challenge and they were left stunned as Havertz escaped with a yellow card.<\/p>\n<p>To add insult to injury, three Magpies players were cautioned for their passionate remonstrations to referee\u00a0Stuart Attwell.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Later there was even more drama after Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes appeared to elbow Arsenal&#8217;s Jorginho on the back of his head &#8211; but he received no punishment from the official.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/04\/23\/77404731-12711383-Kai_Havertz_has_been_slammed_after_his_reckless_challenge_on_Sea-a-7_1699140506489.jpg\" height=\"659\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Midfielder Kai Havertz was cautioned for his reckless challenge on Sean Longstaff\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/04\/23\/77405191-12711383-Bruno_Guimaraes_meanwhile_was_not_punished_for_an_apparent_elbow-a-8_1699140511951.jpg\" height=\"419\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Bruno Guimaraes, meanwhile, was not punished for an apparent elbow on Arsenal&#8217;s Jorginho<\/p>\n<p>Howe insisted he had not seen the Brazilian&#8217;s misdemeanour and reckoned Havertz&#8217;s challenge was the only foul worthy of a dismissal.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;For me that was the only moment in the game where I could see a red card.&#8217; He continued. &#8216;You might tell me differently but that&#8217;s the only moment I could see.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I thought there was a lot of needless yellow cards, I didn&#8217;t think there needed to be that many apart from the Havertz tackle, I don&#8217;t think that may bad ones.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;But it became very bitty, very stop start.
