There were three more attempts in the second half including one blocked at close range and his horror miss from just underneath the bar.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The flag went up against Mo Salah though replays showed he was actually onside.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When all is said and done that should see this performance go down as one that included nine shots from Nunez, equalling a record number from one player in a Premier League game this season.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/05\/19\/77430261-0-image-a-27_1699211303091.jpg\" height=\"424\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Darwin Nunez missed an open goal for Liverpool after Mo Salah&#8217;s misdirected header fell perfectly into his stride only for the Uruguayan to smash over the bar<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/05\/19\/77430257-0-image-a-28_1699211306250.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Uruguay striker Nunez looked dejected after missing a huge chance to put his side in the lead<\/p>\n<p><span><span>Magnificent Mengi<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Luton &#8216;didn&#8217;t go and drastically buy superstars&#8217; as former defender Curtis Davies rightly pointed out while on punditry duty.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But he might well have noted the impressive performance put in by one of their under-the-radar additions Teden Mengi playing his old postion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He arrived for an undisclosed fee from Manchester United and seemed to relish trying to thwart Liverpool&#8217;s superstars.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The recovery pace he showed to chase down Ibrahima Konate when he embarked on a surging run from defence and perfectly-timed tackle was his best moment.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/05\/19\/77430291-0-image-a-29_1699211538946.jpg\" height=\"349\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Former Manchester United youth player Teden Mengi has impressed at the back for Luton<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/05\/19\/77430289-0-image-a-32_1699211569858.jpg\" height=\"463\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Mengi rises above Virgil van Dijk, however Luton still failed to keep a clean sheet this season<\/p>\n<p><span><span>Luton denied shut-out at the death<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Mengi was far from alone in catching the eye for Luton. Wingbacks Issa Kabore and Alfie Doughty put in huge shifts too and goalkeeper Thomas Kapinski kept out nearly everything Liverpool threw at him.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>They all looked to have contributed to finally earning Rob Edwards&#8217; side a first clean sheet of the season at the 13th attempt. Then Luiz Diaz struck in injury time. Horribly unlucky for Luton.<\/p>\n<p><span><span>Klopp&#8217;s dressing room comparison<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Luton might well be used to hearing various descriptions from people unfamiliar with their unique ground.<\/p>\n<p>But there was perhaps a new one from Jurgen Klopp about the away changing room. &#8216;The pitch is good. I love these kind of grounds. The dressing room is like camping in Mount Everest.
