Manchester United are reportedly lining up a World Cup-winning midfield reinforcement after Casemiro’s recent injury.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Brazilian sustained a hamstring injury during the Red Devils’ 3-0 loss to Newcastle that is expected to keep him on the sidelines for several weeks.<\/p>\n
United managed to claim a crucial 1-0 victory against Fulham on Saturday in the 31-year-old’s absence but the club are reportedly still keen to bolster their options in the position.\u00a0<\/p>\n
According to\u00a0Estadio Deportivo, Erik ten Hag’s side are considering a swoop for Real Betis anchorman Guido Rodriguez.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 29-year-old, who was part of Argentina’s World Cup winning squad last December,\u00a0is out of contract next summer, allowing him to negotiate a future deal from January.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The defensive midfielder would compliment Ten Hag’s options which currently include the likes of\u00a0Christian Eriksen, Mason Mount and Scott McTominay and summer recruit\u00a0Sofyan Amrabat.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Rodriguez has been at the\u00a0Estadio Benito Villamar\u00edn since 2019 following his breakthrough at River Plate. The midfielder also spent time in the Mexican top-flight with Club Tijuana and\u00a0Club America.\u00a0<\/p>\n
United are likely to face competition for his signature with Barcelona reported to be interested in luring him to the Camp Nou as they focus their attention on free agents and loan deals amid their financial issues.\u00a0<\/p>\n
